Reliability Improvement Experiments with Degradation Data

Abstract

We propose a new classification of noise factors for the use in experiments with degradation data. Based on the above classification and using a stochastic differential equation for the degradation rate we develop a statistical model for the degradation measurement. We then propose two optimization procedures for finding the optimal control factor setting. The methodology is illustrated using a window wiper switch experiment.
