Abstract
In this paper we consider the approximate D-optimal design problem for weighted trigonometric regression models on a partial circle. It is shown that the problem of constructing approximate D-optimal designs for weighted cos and sin models is equivalent to that of finding D-optimal designs for weighted polynomial. This enables us to determine explicitly the optimal designs for several classes of weight functions.
