Abstract
Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries in the world but ironically development agencies like USAID or the World Bank, with their huge monetary input, failed to improve severe poverty. On the other hand, a local innovation seemed to prove itself as an effective tool to address this critical challenge. The presenter will elaborate how it operates and expands, whether microcredit really can solve the problem, and raise questions about the sweeping microcredit movement in the world.
