Abstract

Species Estimation is one of the traditional issues in the ecological research. Almost all the work is focused on the single area sampling. The presentation discusses the extension of the single area sampling to the multiple areas. Based on the sample coverage, estimation of some parameters can be made by the quadrat sampling technique. The work makes some assumptions to model the observed probability of the species by the random effect and combines the multiple quadrat sampling data. Under the assumptions and frameworks, the estimation of the parameters such as total species, shared species, and endemic species can be made in the multiple area research. Some simulated results and a data example will be showed in the talk and the discussion will also be hold at that time.
