Abstract
Scholars have long debated about whether “social networks are technologically embedded.” The rise of social media (e.g., Facebook) makes this issue more noticeable. This talk proposes the concept of “network opportunity” to disentangle this issue by emphasizing the role of triads in making friends and disseminating information. In addition, the evaluation of the causal relationship between two networks will also be touched.?
