Abstract

In this talk, I will be talking about some of the research projects we have been working on at the Music and Audio Computing Lab, Academia Sinica.? The talk will be divided into two parts.? The first part is more about music signal processing and it covers topics related to musical source separation, audio feature extraction, and musical onset detection, using a dictionary-based approach to music signal processing.? The second part is more about music information retrieval and it covers topics related to music emotion recognition and context-aware music recommendation.? We show how signal processing and machine learning methods can be applied to musical audio to facilitate intelligent music related applications to help end users enjoy and comprehend music.
