Statistical data analysis under skew normal related families

Abstract

The data collected are often skewed so that the normal assumption may not be suitable for data analysis. Skew family of distributions (skew normal, skew-t) can be a better fit. In this talk, the properties of skew families are introduced and methods are provided to analyze the data. Applications related to the real data and some recent and open problems are discussed.
