Mooncake Gambling -- Its History, Statistics and Game

Abstract

Mooncake gambling is a traditional activity originated from Xiamen and Kinmen for about three hundred years. Nowadays, this activity is held in Kinmen county of Taiwan in the moon festival of every year, and the lucky participants always receive excellent prizes. This seminar first provides a brief history of mooncake gambling, then its rules are investigated and discussed statistically. At the end of this talk (if time is allowed), every seminar participant will have a chance to play this traditional game and some prizes are given to the lucky players.
