Abstract

Modern astronomy imaging surveys are powerful machines to systematically scan through the night sky generating tera- to peta-bytes of imaging data.? In this talk, I pose the challenges of how to find interesting galaxies in this huge data set and how to understand the selection as well as the selected sample. I will use extended emission line galaxies as an example, which have particular colors and irregular morphologies. I seek insights and suggestions on these data challenges.
