Abstract

In this talk, by going through a series of real datasets from various complex systems, I want to explain how this simple concept of heterogeneity finds its way into majority of real-world data sets and weaves a complex foundation underlying huge research topics like causality, machine learning and AI.  All explanations point to the visible fact that the collective manifestations of heterogeneity make up data’s information content, in which data-driven scientific resolutions can be found. Ongoing topics are briefed at the end.
