In this presentation, we will discuss the growing trend of utilizing big data in the field of infectious disease epidemiology. Specifically, we will focus on the application in disease surveillance, modeling, and evaluation of public health interventions. In addition, we will introduce a comparative evaluation of COVID-19 containment across 50 distinctly governed regions. This present will highlight examples of big data applications, and discuss future challenges and opportunities for their continued development and implementation.
