Abstract

This talk explores how bioinformatics and artificial intelligence (AI) are reshaping glycoscience and biomedical innovation. The first part introduces the hierarchical one-pot glycan synthesis platform, where machine learning predicts glycosyl donor reactivity to automate carbohydrate synthesis and enable applications in carbohydrate-based biomedicine. The second part highlights bioinformatics-guided vaccine design, showing how analyzing millions of SARS-CoV-2 spike sequences led to identifying conserved epitopes and creating low-sugar mRNA vaccines with broad protection. Finally, the talk discusses emerging directions in next-generation computational drug discovery. Together, these advances demonstrate how integrating computation with molecular science accelerates the design of intelligent therapeutics.
